About Traditions Council

Traditions Council, founded in 2009, is a university sponsored student programming board, with the purpose to preserve, promote, enhance, and support the traditions and school spirit of Georgia Southern University through education and programming.

The programming board consists of 40 Georgia Southern students dedicated to bleed TRUE BLUE. The Traditions Council has a hand in many events through the year including Homecoming, Eagle Rallies, Lantern Walks, The Lighting of Sweetheart Circle, Mr. GSU pageant, and the Miss GSU scholarship pageant.

Traditions Council also supports Eagle Camp, a social orientation program designed to integrate students into university culture with a strong tie to Georgia Southern spirit and tradition.
